Patricia Apergi

Fearless Festivals

Patricia Apergi was born in Athens. Ιn April 2006 she founded the Aerites dance company. She has choreographed theatrical plays, operas and art installations in collaboration with various artists and she has been invited as a guest choreographer to many dance companies internationally.

She is a co-writer of the book History of Theatre and Theatrical Education (Greek Ministry of Education, Educational Centers for Adults, 2007). She was selected as modul-dance artist of the European network EDΝ for the period 2013-2014, and as an associate artist at Maison de la danse (Lyon) for the period 2016–2017. She was part of the board of directors for the Athens and Epidaurus Festival for the years 2019-2022.

In 2021 she created the 1st Academy of Choreographers in Elefsina, an artistic and educational programme in collaboration with Elevsis European Capital of Culture 2023.

The preceding text was initially delivered as an intervention by Patricia Apergi within the framework of the Fearless Festivals Forum 2025, during the panel discussion “Working without Fear? Performance in a Changing and Challenging Environment,” held at the Goethe-Institut Athen. The forum was co-organised by the Athens Epidaurus Festival and the European Festivals Association as part of the platform grape–Greek Agora of Performance 2025.
